Consumer Description

AFTER ONLY ABOUT 36.000 MILES, THE PCM COMPUTER CONTROLLING EVERYTHING IN THE CAR SUDDENLY FAILED. LUCKILY IT HAPPENED WHILE PARKED AND NOT ON THE ROAD WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. IT APPEARS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH FORD ESCAPE VEHICLES IN THE PAST AND PRESENTS A POTENTIAL SAFETY RISK IF THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS NO FOREWARNING OF THIS FAILURE.
