Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND THE "ENGINE FAIL SAFE MODE" WARNINIG ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AFTER A FEW MINUTES, BUT THE WARNING INDICATOR RECURRED. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN THE FAILURE, BUT ASKED TO SEE THE VEHICLE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,962.
