Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING COLUMN SEIZED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO TURN OR REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO FIND A FAILURE; HOWEVER, THEY REMOVED THE PART AND INSPECTED IT AND PUT THE PART BACK TOGETHER. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
