Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE CYLINDERS FAILED. THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER; THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
