Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT NOTICED A STRAP HANGING UNDER THE FUEL TANK AND THAT FUEL LEAKED ONTO THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS RUST AND HOLES UNDERNEATH THE TANK THAT CAME FROM CORROSION AND THAT THE STRAPS ON THE TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
