AFTER REMOVING THE CARTRIDGE STYLE OIL FILTER FROM THE ASSEMBLY, A SPRING AND BROKEN PLASTIC PIECES FLEW OUT OF THE ASSEMBLY. THIS OCCURRED AROUND 50,000 MILES. VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER CERTIFIED USED CAR WARRANTY PROVIDED BY DODGE. APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AND THE PART HAS SINCE BEEN UPDATED ON NEW VEHICLES.
