Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A GATE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
