Consumer Description
I HAVE A 2006 BMW X5 WITH THE SPORT SPORTS PACKAGE AND I AM EXPERIENCING THESE SAME PROBLEMS AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL 02 - ID # 13V564000 - AIR BAGS RECALL 03 - ID # 13V564000 - AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL M. I HAVE CALLED BMW OF AMERICA AND TRIED TO GET THEM TO HONOR THE RECALL BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED. I WAS TOLD BY CUSTOMER REP. [XXX] THAT BMW HAVE DECIDED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER THAT RECALL AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT LOOK AT BEFORE THEY WOULD CONCEDER ANY REPAIRS TO BE COVERED UNDER THESE RECALLS. I TOLD BOTH REPS AND ALSO SPOKE WITH SUPERVISOR [XXX] THAT THIS IS UNCALLED FOR SINCE IT MATCHES THE YEAR, MAKE, MODEL AND PACKAGE THAT IS BEING RECALLED. I FIRST TALKED WITH [XXX] AND ALL HE HAD DONE WAS GIVE ME A RUN AROUND THAT BMW WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT BY A BMW SERVICE TECHNICIAN. I KEPT TELLING THEM THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSIS FOR SOMETHING THAT IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALLS, BUT ONCE AGAIN I WAS TOLD BY [XXX] THAT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. I HAVE SENT MAY EMAILS AND HAD MANY PHONE CALLS WITH BMW AMERICA ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND I AM VERY UNSATISFIED WITH HOW THEY ARE HANDLING THIS ISSUE. I FEEL THEY DO NOT LOOK OUT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS AND DON'T CARE IF THIS RECALL HURTS OR EVEN KILLS SOMEONE. IF THEY TRULY CARED THEY WOULD HAVE TAKEN IN THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE DONE THE DIAGNOSIS TO SEE IF IT IS THE PROBLEM AND HAVE IT FIXED BUT AS I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH THIS ISSUE BMW DOES NOT CARE. THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY THAT I REMEMBER BMW WAS STANDARD FOR EXCELLENCE AND IS TO BE AN EXTREMELY HIGH STANDARD OF HIGH QUALITY CARS BUT WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG BMW LEAVES YOU WITH NOTHING AND WILL NOT HONOR THEIR MISTAKES TO MAKE IT RIGHT.
