Consumer Description
(1) WHILE SITTING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT A STOP LIGHT IN THE CITY. I HAVE A HABIT OF NOT STOPPING CLOSE TO VEHICLES AT STOP LIGHTS. WHILE STOPPED AT THE LIGHT BEHIND A NEW LOOKING EXPLORER OF SOME KIND MY TRUCK LUNGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING BY ITSELF WITH MY FEET ON THE BRAKES. IF I HAD STOPPED CLOSER TO THE VAN I WOULD HAVE HIT IT VERY HARD. I READ NO ONE CAN STAND IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK WITH THE MOTOR RUNNING BECAUSE OF THIS. (2) STARTED MY TRUCK IN MY YARD. IT QUICKLY IDLE VERY FAST AND WOULD NOT IDLE DOWN. PUT IN GEAR AND IT TOOK OFF VERY FAST AND BRAKES LOCKED UP. PUT IN NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF THE SWITCH BEFORE THE VEHICLE GOT IN THE HIGHWAY STILL TRYING TO STOP WITH THE HARD BRAKES. MY TRUCK NEVER DID THIS BEFORE. I LIVE IN THE CITY WHERE YOUNG CHILDREN PLAY IN THE STREET IN FRONT OF MY HOME. IT COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. WHY DO MY TRUCK DO THESE THINGS? I WENT INTO THE COMPUTER LOOKING FOR ANSWERS AND FOUND A LOT OF S10 OWNERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING IN A CURVE, ON THE INTERSTATE OR JUST SOME ONE CROSSING THE STREET IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD SITUATION.
