Consumer Description

WAS BACKING OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT, I STOPPED AND TRIED TO PLACE IT IN DRIVE WHEN THE SHIFTER SUDDENLY DROPPED STRAIGHT DOWN AND THE CAR STARTED COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD. HITTING THE BREAKS AND E BRAKE TO GET THE CAR TO STOP. MY FRIEND AND HIS NEIGHBOR CAME AND HELPED ME PUSH THE CAR OUT OF TRAFFIC. FRIEND WHO'S A LICENSED MECHANIC LOOKED AT THE CAR, CHECKED THE SHIFTED AND MENTIONED THE LINK CABLE HAD SNAPPED WHICH IS WHY THE CAR WAS STUCK IN REVERSE. AS OF RIGHT NOW THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER SINCE IT'S STUCK IN REVERSE. THE SHIFTER WILL NOT PUT THE TRANSMISSION BACK INTO PARK . DOING A LITTLE BIT OF RESEARCH I FOUND THERE IS A RECALL ON THE MODEL OF CAR (14152) BUT GM HAS NOT PLACED MY VIN AS A CONCERN. *JS
