Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, SMALL FLAMES EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SHOULDER AND WAS SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF THE EXACT REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 13V583000 (ENGINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
