Consumer Description
I BROUGHT MY TRUCK IN TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT IS A 2006 F150 4.6L - AFTER HIS INSPECTION, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BOTTOM OF THE #2 SPARK PLUG (MANUFACTURE INSTALLED) HAD DISINTEGRATED AND FELL INTO THE HEAD CAUSING SO MUCH DAMAGE TO THE #2 CYLINDER THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE AT A COST OF OVER $6,000 PLUS TAX. IT WILL TAKE OVER A WEEK TO FIX AND I DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WOULD LIKE FORD TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE EXPENSE. I HAVE WRITTEN TO THEIR "CUSTOMER CARE"( [XXX]) DEPARTMENT, BUT HAVE HAD NO HELPFUL OR SATISFACTORY RESULTS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AS FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB AND DEVELOPED A TOOL TO ASSIST WITH THE REMOVAL OF FAULTY SPARK PLUGS. *TR
