Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FIVE HUNDRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SIDE DOORS FAILED TO LATCH DURING EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V383000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMEDY REPAIR HAD NEVER BEEN PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 02/24/14*LJ THE DEALER REPLACED THE LATCHES, AT NO CHARGE. UPDATED 02/25/14
