Consumer Description

POWER STEERING PRESSURE LINE HOSE STARTED LEAKING AND IS DRIPPING DOWN ON TO THE EXHAUST HEAT SHIELD. MECHANIC HAD SAME MODEL CAR CATCH ON FIRE DUE TO THIS PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A V4 NOT A V6. V6 MODEL HAS RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. V4 DOES NOT. OURS IS ALSO A V4. WE WERE ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR AND NOW REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE HOSE AT $336. THE HOSE IS VERY CLOSE TO THE ENGINE AND IS NOT PROTECTED FROM HEAT, ALSO WHEN IT FAILS IT WILL DRIP ON THE HEAT SHIELD. WE BELIEVE THE V4 MODEL SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND IS A SAFETY RISK TO OWNERS. *TR
