Consumer Description

AT 65 MPH THE CAR ALL OF THE SUDDEN SHUTTERED AND WENT INTO LIMP MODE. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE, WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON AND THE CAR SAT AN IDLED/SHUTTERED. TURNED IT OFF. WAITED ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND TURNED IT BACK ON, EVERYTHING APPEARED FINE, AND NO LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD. DID AN INTERNET SEARCH AND DISCOVERED MANY 2010 FUSION OWNERS HAVING SAME ISSUE...THROTTLE BODY. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER AND CONFIRMED FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. WANTED $596 TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY AND REPROGRAM PCM. WAY TOO MUCH FOR A PART THAT IS ABOUT $150 AND 10 MINUTES WORK. DANGEROUS SITUATION, AS HIGHWAY SPEED AND SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER DO NOT MIX. *TR
