2010 FORD ESCAPE V6 AWD - BUILT JUNE 14, 2010 WHILE DRIVING ON MAJOR LOCAL ROAD, VEHICLE LOST ALMOST ALL POWER. "WRENCH" (THROTTLE CONTROL/POWERTRAIN WARNING) LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE SLOWED TO A ROLL WITH GAS PEDAL PROVIDING NO ACCELERATION. AFTER COMING TO A STOP VEHICLE WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE TO BETWEEN 2-4 MPH. VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO DEALER ABOUT A MILE AWAY AFTER SITTING ON SHOULDER FOR 15-20 MINUTES. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS A FAILED THROTTLE BODY AND REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY WITH A DEDUCTIBLE CHARGE. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A DANGEROUS SITUATION HAD THE VEHICLE BEEN MERGING, ETC.
