Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PUSH-TO-START SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STARTED. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE CONTACT RAN AN INDEPENDENT DIAGNOSTIC TEST, WHICH DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE STEERING COLUMN, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
