Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 40 MPH AND MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, BUT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND. THERE WAS AND INCREASE IN THE ENGINE RPMS, BUT THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED INSTEAD OF ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 50,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
