Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 25 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, HE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE COMPUTER TO REBOOT IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE TEST DID NOT INDICATE ANY PROBLEMS. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. NUMBER 04V112000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:STARTER ASSEMBLY) BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND WAS OUTSIDE OF THE RECALLED YEAR MODELS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
