Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN HE SMELLED A BURNING ODOR. HE ATTEMPTED TO ENGAGE THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH BUT THE WINDOW WOULD NOT OPEN AND SPARKS WERE SEEN COMING FROM THE SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V456000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 11/16/11 *BF
