Consumer Description
CONSTANTLY BEING TROUBLED BY THE BRAKE/ABS LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD. UPON GOING TO AUTO ZONE AND CHECKING WHAT KIND OF CODE COMES UP FOR THE PROBLEM, I RECEIVED 20+ CODES RELATING TO BRAKES/ABS PROBLEMS. I LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM AND DISCOVERED IT WAS VERY POPULAR AMONGST FORD WINDSTARS FROM 1999-2003. I HAVE A 2001 FORD WINDSTAR AND THIS PROBLEM IS VERY TROUBLESOME. UPON REQUESTING A QUOTE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, I WAS LOOKING AT $2000+ (PARTS, LABOR AND WARRANTY). IT SEEMS THE ABS MODULE IS BAD, AND IT ITSELF COSTS $550 JUST IN PARTS. THIS PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT AMONG A LOT OF FORD WINDSTAR AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING. I WOULD LIKE FORD TO TAKE SOME SORT OF ACTION AND ISSUE A RE-CALL. *TR
