Consumer Description

WE PURCHASED A USED 2006 WINNEBAGO TOUR IN MAY OF 2010 WITH A NORCOLD REFRIGERATOR. DURING THE HEATING OF THE DAY THE REFRIGERATOR WOULD START MAKING A NOISE AND IF WE SHUT IT OFF FOR AN HOUR OR SO-THE NOISE WOULD GO AWAY. IN NOV. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE NORCOLD. WE MADE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE REPAIR IN ATLANTA FOR THE TIME PERIOD WE WERE TOLD THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE,HOWEVER THE PARTS DID NOT ARRIVE BEFORE WE LEFT THE ATLANTA AREA. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE PARTS WHERE WE ARE IN SC. WHILE TALKING TO NORCOLD ON 3/7/11 TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE PARTS, I INQUIRED ABOUT THE REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THE REPAIR SOLUTION SHUTS THE REFRIGERATOR OFF IF THE TEMP GETS TOO HIGH. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN NO ONE IS AROUND TO TURN IT BACK ON, I WAS TOLD THAT NORCOLD FELT IT WAS BETTER TO LOSE WHAT'S IN THE REFRIGERATOR THAN TO LOSE THE RV TO FIRE. IN MY OPINION THIS IS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM. *TR
