TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2001 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A KNOCKING AND GROUNDING SOUND IN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT A PART OF NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 02V146000, SUSPENSION ALTHOUGH THE FAILURE WAS IDENTICAL TO THE RECALL. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 59000.
