TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE GLASS OF THE REAR WINDSHIELD SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND A TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR AND WINDSHIELD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER HE ADDED THAT NO REPLACEMENTS PARTS WERE AVAILABLE BECAUSE THE COMPONENT WAS REDESIGNED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,200. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,230.
