Consumer Description

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AFTER THE STARTER AND COOLANT BRACKET WERE REPLACED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC MAY HAVE PERFORMED SOME FAULTY REPAIRS. THE FAILURE WAS INVESTIGATED AND THE MECHANIC WAS NOT AT FAULT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V116000 AFTER THE FIRE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,800.
