Consumer Description

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE RISING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE LIFTED THE HOOD, FLAMES WERE PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR TWO HOURS. THE DEALER REFERENCED RECALL # 05V388000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL), BUT THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 83,000.
