Consumer Description
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC CANYON PICK UP TRUCK. THE TRUCKS BED CAP HAD A TINTED WINDOW THAT CAUSED THE DRIVER TO CRASH DUE TO POOR VISIBILITY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WINDOW WAS STANDARD, A 31% TINT WAS LEGAL IN ALL STATES. THE CAP ALSO HAS A CAUTIONARY NOTICE STATING THAT NO ONE SHOULD RIDE IN THE REAR. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE EQUIPMENT IS LEER, A DIVISION OF TRUCK ACCESSORIES INCORPORATED. THE CONTACT HAS REPLACED THE WINDOW WITH AN UNTINTED WINDOW TO INCREASE VISIBILITY; HOWEVER, HE WAS AWARE OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000. *AK UPDATE 04/17/07 *TR
