Consumer Description
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RECEIVED A RECALL 06V476000 FOR THE 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON XL1200C MOTORCYCLE ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR ON 01/22/07. SHE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, WHO HAD ALREADY ORDERED THE PARTS AND WAS WAITING FOR THEM. SHE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS CAME IN SOMETIMES IN FEBRUARY. SHE STATED THAT THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED HER THAT THE PARTS CAME IN ,AND THEY PUT THE RECALL PARTS ON THE MOTORCYCLES ON THEIR SALES FLOOR. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD HER THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER THE SAME PARTS AGAIN FOR THE CONSUMERS THAT ALREADY OWNED THESE MOTORCYCLES. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE TO PLACE ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL ORDER FOR THE OWNERS OF THE MOTORCYCLES. THE NATURE OF THE COMPLAINT WAS THAT SHE FELT THAT THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THE CONSUMER FIRST AND NOT THE MOTORRCYCLES THAT THEY WERER TRYING TO SELL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 600 MILES, AND THE CURRENT WAS 750 MILES.*AK
