Consumer Description

TL* - THE CONTACT HAS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA, WHICH HE LEASED ON MAY 29, 2006. THE VEHICLE HAD EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION SINCE SHORTLY AFTER HE LEASED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAS BEEN TRYING TO LEARN WHEN NISSAN KNEW THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY HAZARD, AND WHY HE WAS NOT INFORMED BEFORE LEASING THIS VEHICLE. NISSAN HAS AGREED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE FREE OF CHARGE, BUT WILL NOT TELL THE CONTACT WHEN THEY KNEW OF RECALL 06V223000 PRIOR TO HIS LEASING THE VEHICLE. SINCE SEPTEMBER THE CONTACT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST TWICE TO HAVE OIL REPLACED. *AK
