Consumer Description

I WAS DRIVING ON I 95 IN FLORIDA FOR ABOUT 12 MILES WHEN MY REAR PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. APPARENTLY WHAT HAPPENED WAS THE SIDE WALLS OF THE TIRE SEPARATED FROM THE TREAD. THIS WAS A NEW 2006 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE WITH GOODYEAR EAGLE RSA 17 INCH TIRES. THE TIRE HAD ONLY 6700 MILES. THANK GOD IT WAS MY REAR TIRE AND NOT MY FRONT, BECAUSE ACTUALLY NOTHING HAPPENED TO ME. IF IT WAS MY FRONT I WOULD NOT BE HERE WRITING THIS. WHEN I WENT TO GOODYEAR THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A BLOW OUT. IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BLOW OUT THERE WOULD BE NO MORE TIRE. THE TREAD WAS STILL INTACT, BUT THE SIDE WALL JUST SEPARATED. MANY PEOPLE NOW HAVE TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS A TIRE DEFECT AND NOT A BLOW OUT. GOODYEAR GAVE ME A NEW TIRE AT A DISCOUNT. *JB
