Defect: Van Hool N.V. (Van Hool) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 C2045 and T2145; 2010 C3045; 2016 CX35; 2014-2016 CX45 and TX45; 2009-2016 TD925; 2015-2016 TDX25 and TX40 and 2010-2013 T2140 motorcoaches. In the affected vehicles, the front steering knuckle carriers may crack.

Consequence: Cracking of a steering knuckle carrier may result in its total failure, allowing a wheel to separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Van Hool will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering knuckle carriers that were produced from August 2009 through March 2011. Carriers that were produced from April 2011 to December 2014 will be inspected by ultrasonic measurement and replaced...

Recall 10V603000 — VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:INTERIOR

Defect: VAN HOOL IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2002 THROUGH 2011 TRANSIT BUSES AND MOTORCOACHES MANUFACTURED FROM AUGUST 2002 THROUGH OCTOBER 2010, EQUIPPED WITH HADLEY REMOTE MIRROR SWITCHES, PART NUMBERS 509VH AND 509VH1F. THE REAR VIEW MIRROR SWITCH MAY OVERHEAT, CAUSING THE PLASTIC HOUSING TO MELT.

Consequence: EXCESSIVE HEATING CAN CAUSE A FIRE RESULTING IN SMOKE, OPERATOR DISTRACTION, OR PERSONAL INJURY. AN OVERHEATED MIRROR SWITCH COULD CAUSE THE EXTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRRORS TO NOT OPERATE. THE MIRRORS MAY NOT ADJUST PROPERLY FROM THE INTERIOR SWITCH OR OPERATE POORLY. THEREFORE, THE DRIVER MAY NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE FULL USE OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
