The vehicle was taken to a Tesla service center, where the failure was acknowledged the failure, and the contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The contact stated that the failure was a manufacturer's defect and that the repair should be free of charge. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.
