Recall 16V018000 — ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

| 68,344 vehicles affected

Defect: Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 AN400, AN400A, DL1000, GSX1300R, 2008-2009 GSF1250S and GSF1250SA, 2008 GSX1300BK and GSX1300BKA, 2008-2010 GSX650F, GSX-R600, GSX-R750, VLR1800, VLR1800T, and 2009-2010 SFV650 and VZ1500 motorcycles. Due to a problem with the circuit board for the regulator/rectifier power module, the motorcycle may not sufficiently charge the battery and the motorcycle...

Consequence: If the engine stalls while riding, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy: Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the regulator/rectifier, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 4, 2016. Owners may contact Suzuki customer service at 1-800-444-5077. Suzuki's number for this recall is 2A56 to 2A64.

Recall 12V038000 — EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH

| 1,396 vehicles affected

Defect: SUZUKI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 AN400, AN650, AND DL650 SCOOTERS AND MOTORCYCLES MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO DECEMBER 17, 2011, BECAUSE THE LEVER-MOUNTED BRAKE LIGHT ACTUATING SWITCH(ES) MAY FAIL.

Consequence: ON THE AN400 AND AN650 MODELS, FAILURE OF THE SWITCHES WILL PREVENT THE SCOOTERS FROM STARTING. ON ALL OF THE AFFECTED MODELS, FAILURE OF THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH(ES) MAY CAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN A SCOOTER OR MOTORCYCLE IS BRAKING, THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH WITH A TRAILING VEHICLE.

Remedy: SUZUKI WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND SUZUKI DISTRIBUTORS WILL REPLACE THE BRAKE LIGHT ACTUATING SWITCH, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 13, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-714-996-7040.

GOT MY SECOND SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL AND WENT TO THE SUZUKI DEALER TODAY ON 7-12-16 AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE 2 MONTHS OR SO BEFORE THEY CAN PREFORM THE RECALL. WHEN I GOT THE FIRST NOTICE IT WAS STILL WINTER TIME SO DID NOT GO TO THE DEALER FOR IT. WHAT HAPPENS IF I DRIVE THE SCOOTER ? WILL IT CATCH ON FIRE ? QUESTIONS DEALER COULD NOT ANSWER. I ASK WHY RECALL WILL TAKE SO LONG AND DEALER TOLD ME "YOU ARE NOT MY ONLY CUSTOMER" VERY DISAPPOINTED ON HOW THEY ARE HANDLING THIS.

SINCE BRAND NEW, THE SPEEDOMETER HAS A 8-10% ERROR AT HIGHWAY SPEED VERIFIED BY GPS. SUZUKI CLAIMS THIS IS NORMAL AND WITHIN THEIR STANDARDS. THE ODOMETER DOES READ THE CORRECT MILEAGE, SO THIS IS A DEFECT THAT THEY ENGINEERED INTO THE BIKE, AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND REPAIR. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON TO ALL 400 AND 650 SUZUKI BERGMANS. OUR STATE OF WISCONSIN EVEN HAS A LAW THAT PROHIBITS DEFECTIVE SPEEDOMETERS SO SUZUKI IS IN VIOLATION OF STATE OF WISCONSIN STATUTE. *TR
