Received a warning light and vehicle decelerated with a loss of power. After researching the issue it was determined that it was the crankshaft sensor that had become delaminated. Of which there is a current recall that would not be honored by FCA
The contact's son owns a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the owner was driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was informed that the vehicle had been running rough and idling roughly prior to the warning light becoming illuminated. The owner had taken the vehicle to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer retrieved DTC: P0303 (Misfire in Cylinder #3). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 129,045.
The transmission on this 2016 grand jeep Cherokee had completely went out due to fluids being in the transmission. Which is causing a head gasket problem as well. This car was regularly serviced. Only had this vehicle 7-8 months. My safety was put at risk when I was driving my kids to school and on my way to work when it started to overheat causing me to pull over and not being able to drive this vehicle. This jeep is currently at an authorized dealer and has been diagnosed. There were absolutely NO warning signs whatsoever to indicate that this vehicle was going to go out on me. I don’t think it’s fair for me to have to give up my vehicle for something that I did not cause!
Oil filler neck leaking and possible due to a blown motor
From one day to the next the engine is blown. Mechanic says the engine was hot for a while but no light or notices came up until the day of the major issue. I had jsut taken it to get new headlights and tires rotated and no mention of anything off. From oen day to thenext it overheated. I see similar RECALLS on the SAME EXACT JEEP. Make model and year.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling, or at a complete stop, the vehicle was shuddering with the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact used a code reader and retrieved a DTC for a stuck intake valve in the high lift position. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to a local dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.
During a routine trip, in a suburban area, on a cold winter morning my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo was running rough and losing power as soon as I started it. The engine light came on and we immediately stopped driving and had it towed for repairs. The Dealer diagnosed the problem by observing that the front of the engine rose up when the gas pedal was pressed, and the engine was loose. We are concerned this failure could have resulted in engine falling out of the car, which could have caused a catastrophic accident, fire from the loss of fuel, and loss of life or serious injuries. The engine mounts failed at about 76,101 miles. This did not result in an accident or damage This problem was diagnosed and repaired by the Stafford, Chrysler Jeep Rambler Dealer (the Dealer) at 121A West Stafford Rd, Stafford Springs CT who can...
Vehicle will stall while driving. Has happened 15+ times when trying to accelerate from a stop light, twice while driving at 45+ mph. Engine will stall and the dash will say "Shift to park to continue driving." Vehicle must be shifted in to park, and then the start button must be pressed to restart the engine and continue driving.
2016 Grand Cherokee with 3.0L Ecodiesel and the engine failed at 43K mileage. The engine failed while driving on the highway. This could cause an accident and serious safety concern. Ecodiesel had similar failures for different drivers. The engine fails without any previous warnings. The dealer found big metal shaving in the oil pan, possibly due to the rod bearing failure. Currently the engine needs to be replaced
Rocker arm failure on 3.6 liter engine. This issue had been reported by many Grand Cherokee owners over multiple years. This is an expensive fix greater than 1000 dollars and should be supported or recalled due to manufacturer error.
I've had issues with my vehicle since 2021 -engine light first appeared on the dashboard and towed my car to a Jeep dealership. Vehicle was "repaired" (have the documentation, if needed), but the engine light remained on. I have since driven this vehicle for nearly 3 years with the engine light on, bringing it into different Jeep dealerships (all documentation on record if needed) to repair and was told there was nothing they could find wrong with the engine. Last year (2023) my electronic stability control and 4WD lights came on in addition to the engine light. My car was sliding all over the road and my 4WD was not engaging at all. Brought vehicle to Jeep dealership for repair, was told ABS module needs to be replaced and the traction control is malfunctioning; no 4 wheel drive engagement; that the ABS module has been discontinued and the only way...
2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee started to have rough idle when stopped at light or parked. Turns out the VVT Solenoid (Front #2 cylinder) went bad. Poor design by Jeep/Chrysler that could cause a safety concern and even internal damage to engine. The VVT Solenoid from (Hawk Chrysler Jeep in Forest Park, IL) cost $143.00 w/o tax part #5047897AC. Part and vehicle is available for inspection at anytime. My incident occurred on Oct 1, 2023 in the middle of intersection making a left turn when I experienced rough idle. The next day the check engine light came on triggered code P0302 misfire #2 cylinder. Normal vehicle cylinder misfire would be due to bad ignition coil, plug, vacuum leak or fuel injector but not Chrysler product. That's when I noticed an abundance of Jeep Grand Cherokee owners from 2016/2017 complaining about VVT Solenoid causing misfire and rough idle. Independent repair facility confirmed...
While exiting an automatic car wash, I pressed the brake pedal to put the vehicle in gear and while turning in the lot to go to a vacuum station the accelerator stuck and went to wide open full speed mode and I could not stop it with the brakes. I shot through a vacuum stall, jumped a curb and hit a concrete drain collection box. The air bags deployed but the car was a total loss.
Purchased "Certified Used" Vehicle December of 2021. I have had 4 water pumps installed due to leaks. It has smelled and vehicle has increased temperature. It is now back at the dealership to have the 5th water pump installed.
Since purchased new, vehicle frequently loses acceleration, at varying vehicle speeds and will not exceed engine idle and has happened several times when crossing oncoming speeding traffic and is hard to avoid dangerous collision. To get the engine to accelerate again, operator must stop the vehicle, put the can in park, shut the engine off then restart. Most of the times, it is hard to find a spot in the traffic to go through the above maneuver creating a very dangerous situation as it has happened in the HOV lane of freeways during high speed and crowded traffic, no place to pull over.
Dear Sir or Madam, I want to file this complaint regarding an authorised JEEP Dealership and Service in Kyiv, Ukraine (Stolychne Highway, 90, 03045), which refuses to repair my Recall 22V-406 on my 2016 JEEP Grand Cherokee Overland. According to that I'm not able to use my car until it will be maintained and mentioned above Safety Recall will be completed because it may cause a car accident on the road or highway without my fault and this can seriously affect my, my family’s and others people health. I hope you can make a right influence on this authorised JEEP Dealership and Service to make sure this unpleasant situation will not happen again with me or any other client. Looking forward to answer from you.
Water pump issue. While driving, the thermometer gauge suddenly went to "H", check engine light came on, no smoke seen and the car suddenly stopped. Coolant confirmed in the tank. The incident happened without warning and was frightening. The car was towed by AAA road service to Olathe jeep dealership and awaiting additional diagnostics. Please advise on the recalls. FCA/Mopar acknowledges issues with water pumps and head gasket issues related to leaks. Please advise.
On May 8th, Son driving Jeep to work and the thermometer gauge suddenly went to "H" check engine light came on, no smoke seen but the the car stopped suddenly. There was coolant in the tank. This incident happened without warning and was quite frightening. Had the car towed by AAA to Jeep dealership in Olathe Ks. Now awaiting diagnostics. It's been a day and a half and the dealership is unsure of what is going on. please help/advise.
The car has a good battery but won’t start. A click is made the radio turns on but the car won’t start. We have changed the starter and also the file pump. Failed 2 times
I have a transmission fluid leak that can cause a fire. I have noticed there was recalls for a cooler hose in 2021. Can that be possible it is a similar issue ?
(2) FAILURES; (1) failure of the engine oil filter assembly (BECAUSE IT WAS PLASTIC). No warning whatsoever, only caught because I noticed oil leak. turns out the filter assembly cracked, pump at least 3 quarts of oil into radiator. COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTOPHIC FAILURE AT HIGHWAY SPEED - ENGINE WOULD HAVE LOCKED UP. - Cost to repair:$1,477.39 Mileage 128,766 (2) failure of multiple rocker arms, only symptom was flashing check engine light under heavy acceleration. NO OTHER WARNINGS. engine effectively stops functioning correctly. Stopping car, turn off and restart- NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC IF OCCURS DURING PASSING, ESPECIALLY ON MINOR ROADS. Cost to repair: $2,479.75 Mileage: 142,724 BOTH ARE CAUSE BY DEFECTIVE PARTS INSTALLED IN/ON ENGINE. RECALL FOR THESE ISSUES IS NOT ONLY WARRANTED, BUT DEMANDED.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while slowing down and coming to a stop, the vehicle stalled. There were rats detected in the vehicle that chewed the interior wires. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the wires were damaged. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.
Over a 3 year time span my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee has on multiple occasions had an extremely rough idle, has a hard time accelerating and car drives extremely rough and bumpy. I’ve taken it to multiple different auto shops and all they ever do is change spark plugs OR they just don’t know what’s wrong. No engine light illuminated and no codes. Spark plugs changed March 2020, august 2020, January 2021 and now January 2023 I’m having this problem again and the shop says they don’t think it’s spark plugs . I just want this resolved. This cannot be safe!
I have only 78,000 miles on my 2016 jeep Grand Cherokee limited and I am having issues with ignition coil. The number 5 cylinder isn't working like it should.
Alternator failed and passenger seat belt does not retract. Coils misfired.
The engine oil cooler failed allowing engine oil to contaminate the entire engine cooling system and leak out. It is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk because the engine oil leak caused my oil level to drop rapidly risking an engine freeze/lock up on the highway. The problem was confirmed by a dealer and an independent service center, but has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure nor afterward.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 75 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light had remained illuminated. The contact was able to veer off to the side of the road where the vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic. The certified mechanic diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
Initially called to schedule an appointment with the jeep dealership due to engine coolant loss in December of 2021 in regards to a recall of egr cooler (W79). Couldn't get an appointment until 2/25/2022. Told it was safe to drive until. 2/25 took vehicle in for inspection of said recall, told yes it does have problem, but no parts until 3/14/2022, safe to drive. Brought back 3/14/22 dealership still has vehicle, not safe to drive, still waiting on parts. Now there is a new recall (Z46), vehicle unsafe to drive, no parts or time when parts will be available.
My 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th edition 3.0L Ecodiesel stalled with no warning while driving on a two lane highway in the middle of NoWhere, New Mexico. No warning lights, until the entire dashboard turned on and the car starting losing speed and power. I don't know how I was lucky enough to make it to the shoulder. I sat there for 2 hours with my 2 kids in the car waiting for a tow, 8 hours from home. I have come to find out that there is one recall for my EGR but when taken to the dealership I was told that my car was built with magnetic material attached to the tone wheel which provides a signal to the crankshaft position sensor and was lost therefore leaving me stalled and stranded. I have looked up my recalls and that one is not on there! How is that possible.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle began to vibrate, and he heard an abnormal noise. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the camshaft to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,500.
My first report (#11396370) was made to you in February 2021. The recall was started in 2020 and as of this date my jeep dealer does not have the parts to repair my vehicle. According to reports, I am driving a "time bomb" ready to burst into flames and threatening the safety and lives of me, my family, and my passengers. To make things worse jeep has notified me that the "U-Connect" emergency contact system will become degraded and inoperable in the coming months making it impossible for me to contact "911" or the jeep emergency assistance contact system. The latter being a paid service (similar to GMC's "On-Star" system) for which they have not promulgated any remedy, any thought of a remedy, or attempt to provide any remedy. THE BOTTOM LINE: I am driving a "time bomb" without a here to fore active emergency contact system with no resolution...
Stopped at a red light and when it turned green, I pressed on the gas pedal and no acceleration. Looked at the dashboard and saw “Shift to P” the engine stalled and I had to roll out of the way of traffic, pressed the brake to a complete stop and restart the ignition/engine and was able to drive again.
OEM WATER PUMP FAILED AT 29,000 MILES, IN JULY 2019, COMPONENT WAS RR. ON 4/8/2021 AT 35,900 MILES WATER PUMP FAILED AGAIN.
MONTHS AGO, I WAS ADVISED OF AN ISSUE THAT WOULD CAUSE A DESTRUCTIVE VEHICLE FIRE. AS OF THIS DATE THERE IS NO CORRECTION AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL AND NO INDICATION THAT MY VEHICLE WILL BE REPLACED IF IT IS DESTROYED BY THE RESULTING FIRE. FURTHER, THERE IS NO REMEDY PROMULGATED FOR MY HEIRS IF I OR OTHERS LOOSE THEIR LIFE IN THE FIRE. PLEASE ADVISE ME ON MY AVAILABLE ACTIONS.
ON JANUARY 22, 2021 AT 0645HRS, I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET IN QUEENS NY AND WHILE STOPPED AT A STEADY RED LIGHT MY VEHICLE STALLED. WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED GREEN I NOTICED ON THE DASHBOARD READ 'SHIFT TO P' AND I HAD TO SHIFT TO PARK, PRESS ENGINE START, SHIFT TO DRIVE AND CONTINUE ON MY WAY HOME. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND TOWING MY BOAT (APPROX 4500LBS) FOR THE PREVIOUS HOUR OR SO ON STATE HIGHWAY BETWEEN 50-65 MPH WITH SOME STOPLIGHTS (NOT INTERSTATE), THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (CEL) CAME ON AND THE DRIVER INTERFACE ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAME ON DISPLAYING SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF "SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM". CONTINUED DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES TO GET TO AN INTERSECTION TO TURN OFF THE MAIN ROAD. ONCE STOPPED AT THE STOPLIGHT I NOTICED SLIGHT SMOKE COMING FROM THE LEFT FRONT CORNER OF THE HOOD BY THE HEADLIGHT. I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK, PUT THE HAZARDS ON AND PULLED THE HOOD RELEASE. BY THE TIME I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND MADE MY WAY AROUND THE DOOR TO THE HOOD, THICK BLACK SMOKE WAS BILLOWING FROM ALL AROUND THE HOOD AND FLAMES WERE NOTICED COMING THROUGH BODY GAPS AND THE GRILL. WITHIN 30 SECONDS THE ENTIRE...
SOMETIMES WHEN IN DRIVE THE CAR STARTS FORCING ITSELF TO MOVE FORWARD MOTION, ONLY HAPPENS WHEN TURNING ON A 4WAY STREET! ALSO THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY TURNS OFF AT RED LIGHTS IF LOW ON GAS IT SHUT OFF AND WE WERE STUCK AT A RED LIGHT
SEVERE BUCKING & JERKING WHILE DRIVING. MORE MODERATE BUCKING WHILE CAR IS IDLE. CODES BEING THROWN ARE P0406 & P0301. IT HAS ALSO THROWN A P0402 AS WELL. I'VE REPLACED THE EGR VALVE AS WELL AS ALL SPARK PLUGS AND THE PROBLEM STILL HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED. MY FUEL MILEAGE IS TANKING AND DRIVING THE JEEP HAS BECOME ALMOST UNBEARABLE.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND LOST ALL POWER. WILL NOT RESTART. TOWED TO DEALER THEY SAY IT'S FUEL PUMP RELATED. IT IS A FUEL PUMP RELAY WHICH IS A VERY KNOWN ISSUE (RECALL) ON 2011-2013 BUT NOT ON ANYTHING NEWER.
28000 MILES +\- DRIVING CAR ON FREEWAY IN HIGH SPEED LANE IN LAS 405 - THE MOST TRAVELED HIGHWAY IN THE US, AND THE CAR SLOWED TO A DEAD STOP. COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION. ALL ELECTRICAL STILL WORKING, LIGHTS, DASH, RADIO. WOULD TURN OVER BUT WOULD NOT START. HOUR EARLIER CAR WAS IDLING AND IDLED TO A STALL. ALL ELECTRICAL STILL WORKING. POLICE HAD TO COME AND STOP TRAFFIC TO WAIT FOR A FLATBED.
TWICE NOW I HAVE HAD MY JEEP DIE ON ME WHILE WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. FIRST TIME I HAD TO BE PUSHED TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET BY STRANGERS BECAUSE NOTHING WOULD RESTART IT AND IT WAS AT ON A BUSY ROAD AT PEAK TIME. SECOND TIME WAS THIS WEEK. WAITING AGAIN FOR LIGHT TO TURN, AS I STEPPED ON THE GAS TO GO, THE CAR SHUT DOWN. BOTH TIMES I TRIED TO PUT IT INTO PARK, RESTART, NADDA. THIS TIME IT STARTED BACK UP WITHIN ABOUT ONE MINUTE.
MAKING RIGHT HAVE TURN INTO GROCERY STORE FROM HIGHWAY AND VEHICLE ABRUPTLY DIES. 'SHIFT TO P' COMES ON, AND CAR WON'T IMMEDIATELY START. IT TAKES 3 OR 4 CYCLES TO START. *TR
BACKING UP TO PARKING SPOT A HOME, FROM A DEAD STOP I GOOSED THE THROTTLE TO GO UP A SLIGHT INCLINE AND THROTTLE STUCK WIDE OPEN IN REVERSE. STOOD ON THE BRAKE FOR 20FT WHILE FIGHTING THE THROTTLE, HIT THE SIDE OF GARAGE AND THREW IT INTO DRIVE AND CONTINUED TO STAND ON THE BRAKES FOR ANOTHER 40FT IN DRIVE. AFTER SMASHING THE IGNITION BUTTON FRANTICALLY ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES AND ALSO ENGAGING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, THE JEEP SHUT OFF. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN OUR DRIVEWAY THAT OUR CHILDREN PLAY ON OFTEN. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT, AND NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN WAY WORSE. NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT IN MY LIFE UNTIL THIS EVENT. COMPLETELY OUT OF MY CONTROL. NOTE THE SKID MARKS ON THE DRIVEWAY. *TR
THE START/STOP FEATURE ON THIS MODEL JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE MALFUNCTIONED AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION. THE ENGINE STOPPED WHILE I WAS AT A RED LIGHT FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME (THE FEATURE WORKING AS IT SHOULD AT THAT MOMENT); WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, AND I RELEASED MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE PUT IN PARK, TURNED OFF AND TURNED BACK ON FOR THE ENGINE TO POWER BACK UP AND MOVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE INTERIOR LIGHTING BEGAN TO FLICKER AND THE ENGINE SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE, AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT OF BAY RIDGE (8825 5TH AVE, BROOKLYN, NY 11209, (718) 836-2600)WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS AT A RED STOP LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND ONTO THE GAS PEDAL AND REALIZED MY 2016 GRAND CHEROKEE WOULD NOT MOVE AND HAD COMPLETELY STALLED. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE GEAR WAS NOT IN NEUTRAL AND READ AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASH THAT SAID SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF 'SHIFT THE GEAR INTO PARK AND THEN INTO DESIRED GEAR.' I COULD NOT PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND HAD TO COMPLETELY SHUT OF MY VEHICLE AND RESTART IT TO GET IT INTO DRIVE. I WAS LUCKY THAT IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT AND NOT MANY PEOPLE WERE AROUND ALTHOUGH ONE PERSON CAME SPEEDING UP BEHIND ME AND HAD TO SWITCH LANES TO NOT HIT ME, EVEN CAME WITH A NOT SO FRIENDLY HONK. I HAVE HEARD OF MANY OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THIS EXACT SAME SITUATION...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. IN ADDITION, WHEN FUELING THE TANK AND ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE, A KNOCKING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEITH CHRYSLER JEEP (5500 CAPITAL BLVD, RALEIGH, NC 27616, (919) 872-5500) TWICE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH HEADLIGHTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT REPLACED, BUT THE ENGINE NOISE WAS REMEDIED; HOWEVER, THE NOISE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 71542505. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000.
I PURCHASED MY JEEP USED IN APRIL OF 2019. ON 2 OCCASIONS SO FAR, WHILE COMING TO A STOP THE ENGINE CUTS OUT. IT TAKES ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES TO GET IT RESTARTED. THIS HAS HAPPENED BOTH TIMES WHILE STOPPING AT A LIGHT IN BUSY TRAFFIC. I HAVE SEEN OVER 30 COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ON WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM. ALL REPORTED STALLING OUT WHILE DECELERATING THE VEHICLE. SOME REPORTED THAT IT STALLS WHILE DECELERATING WHILE TAKING A RIGHT TURN, FOR EXAMPLE, WHILE ENTERING A HIGHWAY OFF-RAMP. THE FIRST TIME MY CAR STALLED I WAS NOT TURNING. THE SECOND, I WAS DECELERATING WHILE TAKING A RIGHT TURN. THIS CAUSES A HUGE SAFELY CONCERN THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY JEEP. MY CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 65K MILES.
I WAS DRIVING ALONG AND APPARENTLY MY BATTERY IN MY KEYFOB WENT DEAD. MY ENGINE STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND IF I WON'T HAVE HAD JUST BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY I WOULD HAVE BEEN STRANDED. THERE IS NO WAY TO START THE ENGINE WITH KEY
IN 2019 JEEP ROLLED OUT AN APPROVED EMISSIONS MODIFICATION (AEM) PROGRAM AS PART OF A EMISSIONS COMPLIANCE SETTLEMENT WITH REGULATORY AUTHORITIES. THIS SOFTWARE FLASH/RE-PROGRAM HAS MADE AN OTHERWISE SAFE CAR UNSAFE. AT LOW ENGINE TEMPERATURES (COLD START) THE VEHICLE HAS VERY LITTLE POWER TO ACCELERATE THROUGH INTERSECTIONS, MAKE LEFT TURNS, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY IF SOMEONE IS APPROACHING FROM A HIGH RATE OF SPEED FROM BEHIND AT A STOPLIGHT. JEEP HAS ACKNOWLEDGE THIS ISSUE AND HAVE NOTED THEY ARE WORKING ON A FIX, BUT HAVE NOT OFFERED ACCOMMODATIONS TO ENSURE ONE HAS A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE WHEN THEY SPEND MONTHS DEVELOPING A FIX. IT IS A HAZARD, HAS RESULTED IN SEVERAL NEAR-MISS SITUATIONS, AND THEY NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO ENSURING THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY.
