engine RPMs surged and the car accelerated forward without foot on the gas pedal concerned about possible pedestrian accident or collision with objects and prop. damage. dealer was unable to duplicate the problem and no repair was made there is no warning...I never know when it will happen and it has occurred in a number of different circumstances
The car keeps randomly dying. Completely loses power even when driving
While driving my car to Virginia to see my daughter, the oil light came on in the middle of a highway, where the speed limit was 70, The car slowed down and I had to pull off to the shoulder as the car lost all acceleration, making it very dangerous on a highway I waited for about 2 hours for a tow truck I waited for almost 2 months to get my car back and it happened again after having it back for a little over a week Mind you, I bought the car brand new with 45 miles on it and the first problem happened a little over 2 weeks after I bought it Hopefully this can be resolved so that my car doesn’t spend more time being serviced than me driving it
The engine dipstick plastic bottom presents an issue to remove dipstick. Dipstick must be wiggled or twisted as it is pulled up without force for removal. The engine head and block holes are not in perfect alignment. The concern is if the dipstick is removed by force the plastic on the end of dipstick could be broken off and end up in the oil pan. That could cause engine damage and a possible safety issue losing power. Hyundai National Consumer Affairs has been notified but states they cannot report a design complaint directly. They offered the NHTSA as a place to report this concern. This was also experienced on another same make/model car on dealers' lot.
Vehiclr has been doing this since 4 montbs after purchase, then a recall came out we were told it would fix the problem. 3 times now since the recall the odometer screen and media screen will go blank while your driving. The car wont accelerate, turn signals, and steering colum becomes hard to operate properly. We have had to near accidents 1 being less than 2 hours in August of 2025 after Hyundai just claimed to repair the issue. We were driving on [XXX], screen went out, we lost full control of steering, had to wrestle with the wheel to keep car in its lane, we were almost hit by semi truck and ran off road. We immediately took car back to dealership, and shop assistant mgr was able to see for himself, it wasnt working after theu just made repair. They kept car a few days we were very...
First incident was July 2025 . Car had 1300 miles. Would not accelerate over 25 miles an hour. Made an appointment with Route 60 Hyundai in Vero Bch, Fl. They could not find anything wrong. (invoice # [XXX]) Second time [XXX]. 3009 miles on the speedometer. The car would not accelerate over 4mph. After several minutes acceleration was possible. We will once again return to Route 60 Hyundai. Car could not get thru a busy intersection. Very dangerous. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
On Sept.12,2025, I was driving with two family members. i was stopped at a light with the auto on/off engaged. Fortunately, i had my foot on the brake as the engine revved very significantly. I threw the car into neutral and the engine returned to normal. Had I not done so, we would have plowed into two cars in front of us at the light. The car was taken to the dealership; but, they could not duplicate a recurrence in road testing.
Car would not go over 25 MPH.Had to pull to side of the road.I had to turn the car off and on then it ran normal.
My entire dashboard goes black and I lose all directions and functions in car. It happens when driving often. Additionally after taking to dealership, it's getting worse. Now warning lights come on and stay on such as master warning lights, batteries, power steering, etc. AC shuts off, the car misses out when driving between 25 and 30 mph. The dealership told me it's not safe to drive.
I leased a brand new 2025 Hyundai Tucson on March 15, 2025, with fewer than 10 miles on the odometer. Shortly after driving an additional 10 miles, the vehicle’s screen malfunctioned, displaying burn-in and becoming non-functional. This issue significantly affects safety, as it renders the backup camera unusable during operation. The vehicle was first brought in for service on March 17, 2025, but the issue was not resolved. Subsequent service attempts were made on March 20, April 9, and most recently on April 11, 2025. As of today, the problem remains unresolved. The vehicle has been in the service center for approximately 15 days since the date of purchase. In addition to the defective screen, the vehicle failed to start on one occasion, leaving me stranded alone in a parking lot, stuck in accessory mode with the brake locked. The car has also exhibited alignment issues, consistently pulling to the...
