WHEN VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN THE BELT TENSIONER KEEPS SHREDDING SERPENTINE BELT, CAUSING VEHICLES ENGINE TO DIED. IN ONE CASE THE BELT TENSION SHIERD OFF, SENDING A METAL BOLT FROM ENGINE THAT PUNCTURED RADIATOR FAN. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. MR

ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE PULLED OVER AND ADDED 3 GALLONS OF WATER AFTER DISCOVERING THAT THE WATER RESERVOIR CRACKED. ALSO REPLACED HEAD GASKETS. ALSO SMOKE CAME FROM EXHAUST SYSTEM INTO ENGINE COMPARTMENT.

THE SPRING LOADED IDLER TIGHTENER BRACKET ON THE FRONT OF THE MOTOR BECOMES UNALIGNED, CAUSING THE SERPENTINE BELT TO COME OFF. WHEN THIS HAPPENS LOSES STEERING AND BRAKES. FORD HAS REPLACED THIS PART (2) DIFFERENT TIMES, WHICH HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM.
