TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-350 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR KEPT FLASHING. BILL UTTER FORD (4901 S INTERSTATE 35 E, DENTON, TX 76210, (940) 321-7400) DIAGNOSED THAT THE REDUCTANT HEATER AND SENDER ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PART AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM FORD'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM (18M01). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BASIL FORD (1540 WALDEN AVE, BUFFALO, NY 14225, (716) 893-1000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INCORRECT FUEL WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO WASHINGTON FORD (507 WASHINGTON RD, WASHINGTON, PA 15301, (724) 223-5100) WHO SPECULATED THAT THERE WAS NO OCTANE IN THE FUEL OR THERE MAY HAVE BEEN WATER OR RUST IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE DEALER LATER STATED THAT, WITH FUEL SAMPLES, THEY FOUND METAL SHAVINGS IN THE FUEL SYSTEM AND THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY THE SECOND DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. WHEN 2016 F-350 SD PULLING 18000 LB CAMPER ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY RUNNING 65-70 MPH GOES INTO EXHAUST CLEANING MODE, THE VEHICLE SPEED DROPS TO APPROX 45MPH IN SHORT DISTANCE. VEHICLE IS ACTING LIKE LIMP MODE. NO CODES ARE PRESENT. WHEN EXHAUST CLEANING MODE CLEARS, VEHICLE RESUMES NORMAL SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH. FORD TELLS ME THIS IS NORMAL. FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD WHEN SPEED SUDDENLY DROPS ~30 MPH WITH CHANCE OF REAR END COLLISION. THIS PROBLEM HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN PULLING 18000 LB CAMPER. HAVE NOT SEEN PROBLEM WITH NO LOAD.
WHEN THE 6.7 DIESEL ENGINE GOES IN TO REGENERATION FOR THE EMISSION SYSTEM THE ENGINE SOMETIMES SHUDDERS AND SHAKES VIOLENTLY. THE VALVES RATTLE AND THERE IS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND TRUCK SLOWS. SEEMS TO BE MOSTLY WHEN THE TRUCK IS IN A SLIGHT PULL UP A GRADE. BUT, IT HAS DONE IT ON FLAT GROUND. THIS CONDITION IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WIDE SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE FORD 6.7 DIESEL ENGINES. THE DEALER STATED IT WAS COMMON WITH THESE 6.7 DIESEL ENGINES AND A FIX WAS COMING BUT IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 YEARS AND NO FIX IN SITE. MY TRUCK IS A 2016 WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES. FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM AND WON'T FIX IT. THE TRUCK IS AT WOODY ANDERSON FORD IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA IN THEIR TRUCK SHOP. THEIR TRUCK SHOP SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME OF THE PROBLEM WHEN I REPORTED WHAT THE TRUCK WAS DOING....
