ENGINE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION. FORD SURPRISINGLY 'CAN'T' REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS AND MOST OF THE TIME LEAVES US STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. A COUPLE TIMES IT HAS LEFT US IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY INTERSECTIONS. ONLY 87K MILES.
AFTER DRIVING JUST 1 MILE ON CITY STREETS AT LESS THAN 40 MPH, MY FORD SUDDENLY DISPLAYED THESE ALARMS: "LOW COOLANT LEVEL, ENGINE OVERHEATING, PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY.". I PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER. MECHANIC'S DIAGNOSIS: WARPED ENGINE BLOCK, WHICH ENABLED COOLANT TO LEAK INTO ONE OF THE CYLINDERS. IT TOOK 12 WEEKS AND $7,930 TO GET THE ENGINE REPAIRED. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW ON OCTOBER 5, 2012. IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 37,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. MY RESEARCH ON YOUR WEBSITE REVEALED THAT THIS CAR HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF 15 RECALLS, 3 OF WHICH HAD TO DO WITH ENGINE OVERHEATING AND LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT. ONE OF THE LATTER RECALLS (FORD RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12S39) OCCURRED BEFORE I PICKED UP THE CAR, BUT I CONFIRMED THAT MY ENGINE WAS ONE OF THOSE AFFECTED BY THAT RECALL....
MY WIFE DRIVING THE CAR, 2013 FORD ESCAPE WITH 75000 MILES AND THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND DIAGNOSED THAT SOME COOLANT IS LEAKING TO THE ENGINE CYLINDER 4
FORD DID A DIAGNOSTIC ON IT WHICH 2 CODES SHOWED BUT THEY TESTED AND COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE. SO I THEN TOOK IT TO THE APPROVED SERVICE SHOP. THE FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED THE PCV VALVE BUT WHEN I PICKED IT UP THE NEXT DAY, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND WAS NOW FLASHING. THE SHUDDERING WAS NOW HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING 70MPH. I TOOK IT DIRECTLY BACK TO THE SHOP WHERE THEY WORKED ON IT FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS. AS IT WAS A SATURDAY, THEY ASKED ME TO BRING IT BACK IN ON TUESDAY WHEN THE SR. TECH WAS THERE. ON THAT DAY IT WAS THERE FOR ANOTHER 6 HOURS. THEY CONSULTED WITH THEIR HEAD TECH WHO HAS BEEN THERE OVER 30 YEARS AND ALSO WITH SEVERAL FORD LEAD TECHNICIANS. THEY REPLACED THE EGR VALVE AND ASKED ME TO LET THEM KNOW HOW IT WAS. THE NEXT MORNING...
CAR TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. MECHANIC FINALLY PULLED UP FORCED ENGINE SHUTDOWN AND HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT MEANT, SO I TOOK IT TO FORD. THEY CANT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. I HAVE NO LIGHTS ON. I AM LITERALLY AFRAID FOR MY LIFE. FORD STILL HAS MY CAR HOPING TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. FORD HEADQUARTERS ARE BARELY HELPFUL. PROVIDED ME WITH A CASE NUMBER AND THAT'S ALL. NO INDICATION THE CAR WOULD TURN OFF. HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN 2 WEEK SPAN. IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP I AM TOO SCARED TO TAKE IT OUT THIS TIME. LAST TIME I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN. THE ENGINE KEPT STALLING OUT AT IDLE OR JUST PUTTING INTO GEAR. MECHANIC DIAGNOSED AS GDI PUMP PSI WAS DROPPING TO 526. HE REPLACED IT. IT IS STILL STALLING OUT WHEN RIGHT AFTER PUTTING IT IN GEAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE COOLANT LEVEL SENSOR. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.

THE VEHICLE PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE FUEL VACUUM PUMP AND FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.

VEHICLE LEAKING CONTINUED LEAKING COOLANT AFTER WATER PUMP CHANGED. DEALERSHIP REMOVED IGNITION COILS & SPARK PLUGS LOOKED WITH BORESCOPE, CYLINDER #3 HAD COOLANT RECOMMENDED ENGINE REPLACEMENT. TORE DOWN ENGINE FOUND POROUS CASTING ON BLOCK ALLOWING COOLANT INTO ENGINE. THIS COINCIDES WITH FORDS RECALL #12V431000 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING AND RECALL#13V58300 ENGINE FOR OTHER MANUFACTURED 2013 FORD ESCAPE MODELS BUT FORD IS NOT EXTENDING RECALL TO THIS ESCAPE STATING IT WAS MFG AT A DIFFERENT PLANT AND DURING A DIFFERENT TIME THAN THE OTHER ESCAPES THAT WERE RECALLED. AS STATED BY FORD "OVERHEATING OF THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEAD MAY CAUSE CRACKS THAT COULD ALLOW OIL TO LEAK POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE. FORD NEEDS TO INCLUDE THESE OTHER ESCAPES IN THEIR RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, WITHOUT WARNING IT STALLS AND I CAN'T CONTINUE UNLESS I TURN IT OFF AND START THE ENGINE AGAIN. I ALSO EXPERIENCE THE SMELL OF BURNT WIRE.
MY `13 ESCAPE ENGINE WILL SHUTDOWN UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS EVENT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES BUT THE LAST EXPERIENCE WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEARLY RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP EXAMINED THE CAR THIS PAST WEEK AND SIMPLY STATED THAT IT REQUIRED A NEW ENGINE AD OFFERED LITTLE MORE INFORMATION. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE ECU PROGRAMMING CAUSES THIS CONDITION. OVER TIME, THE CYLINDER HEAD AND/OR ENG BLOCK DEVELOPED INTERNAL CRACKS. THIS OCCASIONALLY LEADS TO OVERHEATING AND COOLANT CONSUMPTION. IN AN OVERHEAT SITUATION THE COMPUTER/DASH WILL INFORM YOU A FEW SECONDS BEFORE SHUTTING THE ENGINE DOWN. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU ARE, WHAT SPEED YOU'RE TRAVELING OR WHETHER YOU NEED POWER STEERING TO AVOID A DEADLY SITUATION. THE DEALERSHIP AND FMC OFFERED NO SOLUTION OR FINANCIAL COMPENSATION.

COOLANT EVAPORATED OVER FOUR DAYS TIME, THIS COULD HAPPEN WHILE STATIONARY, IN MOTION OR ON HIGHWAY. LIGHT CAME ON TO WARN ME. HAVE BROUGHT THIS FOUR TIMES TO MECHANICS, YESTERDAY BEING THE FIFTH TIME TO FORD DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY TOLD ME NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE BUT THE ISSUE HAD BEEN FIXED PREVIOUSLY TO ME OWNING IT. OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE MANY ISSUES WITH THE 2013 FORD ESCAPES. NOW I'M PAYING OUT OVER 500.00 NOT INCLUDING A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. A YEAR AGO... COOLANT WAS BEING LOST ADD COOLANT LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. I ADDED COOLANT THEN CALLED DEALERSHIP AND GOT IT IN. DEALERSHIP HANDED ME KEYS BACK TWICE AS BOTH TIMES SAYING THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE OR LEAK .AFTER DEMANDING THEY FIND ISSUE LAST YEAR BECAUSE COOLANT WAS LEAKING OUT AND I NEEDED TO ADD IT ONCE A WEEK OR TWICE.., THEY DID THOROUGH TEST AND AGAIN SAID FOUND NOTHING. YESTERDAY IT LET ME SIT ALONG SIDE OF ROAD TEMPERATURE GAUGE HEATED UP TO THE HIGH RED MARK. DEALERSHIP REALIZED ISSUE IS THERE NOW AND THEY FOUND HEATER HOSE TO COOLANT TANK HAD A LEAK IN IT- THIS IS THE 3RD TIME I REPORTED THIS ISSUE AND I HAVE TO PAY SINCE MY WARRANTY COMPANY THROUGH DEALERSHIP WON'T COVER THE HEATER HOSE PART. WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND SLOWED MY VEHICLE DOWN SO I KNEW TO PULL...

THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, OFTEN ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AT SPEEDS AT OR OVER 40MPH; THIS HAS HAPPENED NATIONWIDE AND HAS BEEN REPORTED IN OVER A THOUSAND COMPLAINTS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS, HAZARDOUS DEFECT. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS FOR THIS ONGOING CONSISTENT DANGEROUS DEFECT. WE WERE TRAVELLING IN COLORADO. SUDDENLY ENGINE STARTED TO SMOKE. WE PULLED OVER. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO GARAGE. WAS COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE.

AFTER CAR RESTART, CODES "APPARENTLY" DISAPPEAR AND DEALERS ARE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY ANY ISSUES WITHOUT CODES.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY CAR 40MI/HR ON DECEMBER 23RD, THE LOW ENGINE COOLANT FLUID MESSAGE CAME ON, AND ABOUT 10 SECONDS LATER, THERE WAS A MESSAGE SAYING THE ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING AND TO PULL OVER SAFELY IMMEDIATELY. THE CAR STARTING STALLING AND I PULLED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER PUTTING MORE ENGINE COOLANT, IT WORKED JUST FINE. THEN TWO WEEKS THE LOW ENGINE COOLANT MESSAGE CAME BACK ON AND I TOOK IT TO MIDAS IN WESTLAND, MI WHERE THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DETECT A LEAK. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER THAT THE SAME SITUATION WITH THE LOW ENGINE COOLANT SIGNAL, OVERHEATING ENGINE, AND STALLING CAR HAPPENED, FOLLOWED BY MORE ENGINE COOLANT ADDED TO CAR. SINCE THEN IT HAS DRIVEN JUST FINE BUT I'M AFRAID IT WILL STALL OR START AN ENGINE FIRE.
THE ENGINE WILL SHUDDER AT RANDOM TIMES AND OCCASIONALLY STALL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ISSUE ALSO WILL APPEAR RANDOMLY AFTER FILLING THE TANK. SOMETIMES VENTING THE TANK AT THE INLET WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE. ACCORDING TO FIRESTONE, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE...AND AS A DRIVER, IT IS AWFULLY UNSAFE. FORD HAS DIAGNOSED IT AS HAVING TO DO WITH A FUEL PRESSURE VALVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE. GET THIS FIXED!

FOR THE PAST YEAR MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE WILL LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING AND STALL. I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. IT HAS DONE THIS WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH AND 70 MPH, DRIVING IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE FUEL IS FULL, 3/4, 1/2 OR ALMOST EMPTY. MY CAR LOSES ALL POWER TO THE GAS PEDAL AND STALLS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM DRIVETIME IN JANUARY 2018. THEY DID NOT TELL ME OF ANY RECALLS. I SEE ONLINE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN 15 RECALLS AND THE ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING HAS BEEN RECALLED 2 TIMES. I HAVE HAD ISSUES FOR OVER A YEAR WITH THE COOLING. I HAVE TO ALWAYS PUT COOLANT IN. WE HAVE EVEN BEEN STRANDED WITH AN OVERHEATED VEHICLE. I HAD AN ESTIMATE DONE TO FIX THE ISSUE AND THEY TOLD ME THE PART IS $1,400, IT IS THE COOLANT BYPASS. NOT SURE WHAT THAT IS, HOWEVER WHEN SEARCHING ONLINE, THE PARTS ARE LESS THAN $100. THE LOW COOLANT WARNING ILLUMINATED AS WELL AS THE OVER HEATING WARNING AND THERMOSTAT INCREASE WARNING AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT STAYS ILLUMINATED. WE BOUGHT 2013 FORD ESCAPE IN JULY, 2016, WITH APPROXIMATELY 62,000 MILES. AT 64,000 MILES, AFTER CONSTANT OVERHEATING ISSUES, FORD AGREED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. THERE WERE OVERHEATING ISSUES ON THE NEW ENGINE AT TIME OF INSTALL (STATED IN DEALER NOTES), BUT THEY "FIXED" THEM. THE CAR NOW HAS 103,000 MILES. HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY, WITH OCCASIONAL OVERHEATING ISSUES NOTED. TRANSMISSION FAILED LAST MONTH. WAITED OVER 2 WEEKS FOR DIAGNOSIS. TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND ANOTHER NEW ENGINE IS NEEDED BECAUSE OF COOLANT LEAK. OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 100,000 MILES. CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP. IT SEEMS THAT THEY PUT ANOTHER DEFECTIVE ENGINE IN AT 64,000 MILES BECAUSE YOU SHOULD GET MORE THAT 40,000 MILES ON A NEW ENGINE. THE COST TO REPAIR THIS PIECE OF JUNK IS PROHIBITIVE AND I FEEL VERY UNHAPPY WITH FORD'S RESPONSE.
I BOUGHT THE 2013 ESCAPE BRAND NEW AND FOR 4 YEARS CAR RAN FINE THEN FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS THE CAR WOULD STALL AND I WOULD HAVE TO RESTART IT AND WOULD STALL AGAIN. THIS REPEATED FOR YEARS AND HAD IT FIXED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CAR WAS ALSO LEAKING ANTI FREEZE AND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THAT I NEVER RECEIVED. AFTER THE LATEST STALLING ISSUES THE ENGINE BLOCK HAD A SMALL CRACK WHICH NOW I HAVE NOTIFIED THAT I WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE AT COST OF 6K - 8K. THE CAR HAS 150K MILES WHICH IS NOT ALOT FOR CARS AND HAS BEEN VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE FOR YEARS, I WOULD NOT LET ANY ONE DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO THIS AS WAS SO DANGEROUS.

I AM CONSTANTLY ADDING COOLANT TO MY ESCAPE. IT HAS BROKEN DOWN / SHUT OFF ON ME TWICE AS A RESULT OF OVERHEATING CAUSED BY LACK OF COOLANT. FORD CLAIMED THE COOLANT LOSS WAS CAUSED BY A SENSOR. SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF A FAULTY SENSOR TRICKING THE ENGINE INTO THINKING IT WAS OVERHEATING AND THE COOLANT WAS BEING DISPERSED TO COOL THE ENGINE. I EXPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2017 WITH 52,000 MILES AND THAT BY SEPTEMBER OF 2017 I WAS ADDING COOLANT. THIS CONTINUE UNTIL OCTOBER 2019 WHEN I FINALLY GOT FED UP AFTER THE VEHICLE POWERED OFF ON ME GOING DOWN HILL AS A RESULT OF 'OVERHEATING' NEEDING MORE COOLANT. I TRIED SHARING THIS INFORMATION WITH MY DEALERSHIP TO NO AVAIL AND MENTIONED PREVIOUS RECALLS ON 2013 1.6L ESCAPE ENGINES THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN BUT MANY OF THE RECALLS...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLANT WOULD CONTINUOUSLY DISAPPEARED FROM THE ENGINE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT AND STALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF A LEAK HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE AND COOLANT LOW WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE COOLANT WOULD BE TOPPED OFF REPEATEDLY IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF A POSSIBLE LEAK IN THE HEAD GASKET. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THIS IS THE TENTH TIME THAT THE COOLANT SYSTEM LIGHTS COME ON AND THE THE CAR STALLS OUT AND WILL ONLY GO APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES PER HOUR. THIS HAPPENED THIS TIME WITH A CAR BEHIND ME THAT ALMOST CRASHED INTO ME HE HAD TI HIT HIS BREAKS AND GO ACROSS A DOUBLE LINE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANES TO KEEP FROM HITTING ME, BLESSEDLY THERE WAS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. NOW IT WON"T STAY CHARGED EVEN WITH A NEW BATTERY. AS SOON AS I TURN THE MOTOR OFF THE CAR IS DEAD UNTIL I CHARGE IT AGAIN. IT RUNS FROM POINT A TO B BUT IF YOU TURN IT OFF IT IS COMPLETELY DEAD AND THE KEY WONT WORK OR ANYTHING
AS OF 1/16/2020, I HAVE HAD MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE FOR 6 MONTHS. A WEEK AFTER I GOT MY CAR, IT OVERHEATED. I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER AS THE ENGINE STALLED AND SEIZED UP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER AND HAD THE THERMOSTAT FIXED. AFTER TWO OR THREE MONTHS, THE CAR STARTED OVERHEATING AGAIN. I DECIDED NOT TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AFTER MANY PHONE CALLS AND A VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. I TOOK IT TO TWO MECHANIC SHOPS AND THEY COULD NOT FIND WHAT WAS WRONG. IT CONTINUED TO OVERHEAT, EVEN WITH COOLANT FILLED IN THE RESERVOIR. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN, OVERHEATING IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL. I HAVE CALLED FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR OVERHEATING ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN NUMBER. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC...
WITH IN A YEAR, THE FOLLOWING HAPPENED; THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AND WHEN IT DID, IT IMMEDIATELY DIED BUT WAS NOT RELATED TO THE BATTERY. KEY FOB WOULD NOT REGISTER TO VEHICLE, VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN SMOKE WAS POURING OUT OF THE HOOD, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND NOR TEMPERATURE GAGE MOVED. THIS CAR IS LEMON BASED ON THE HISTORY FROM PREVIOUS OWNER AND THE TWO YEARS I HAVE OWNED IT.
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD - HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN OUR CAR JUST STOPPED - WE WERE CLOSE TO A REST AREA AND WAS ABLE TO COAST IN AND THEN WE WERE TOWED. OUR VEHICLE ONLY HAD 90,000 MILES ON IT AND AFTER GOING TO 4 SHOPS IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS IN DEED THE ENGINE SO WE HAD TO GET A NEW ENGINE. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE SHOULD HAVE HAD SIGNS LIKE OVERHEATING BUT WE HAD NONE - THEN WE WERE TOLD THAT WITH THIS CAR - THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE NEVER GOES OVER HALF SO WE WERE MISLEAD.
VECHICLE STALLES WHILE DRVING ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS
CAR WAS STALLING MULTIPLE TIMES HAD REPAIRED MULTIPLE TIMES KEPT STALLING AND MISFIRING THE VEHICLE HAD 120K MILES ON IT LATEST TEST INDICATED CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK WHICH MAKES THE CAR USELESS. QUOTED NEW ENGINE BY FORD FOR 6K TO 8K TO FIX. CAR HAS HAD ISSUES FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS AND WAS RECALLED 15 TIMES. THE LATEST ISSUE OCCURED IN OCT 2019 AND HAD FUEL SENSOR REPLACED TWO MONTHS LATER STALLED ON HIGHWAY AND ASKED DEALER TO FIX THAT OCCURED ON DEC20 AND THE FIRST DATE TO FIX WAS LISTED AS JAN 07 DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE DEALER WAS FIXING SO MANY RECALLS
ENGINE COOLANT GETS LOW EVERY WEEK/ LIGHT COMES ON / IN MOTION OR STATIONARY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT THEN ILLUMINATED. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STEVENS FORD LINCOLN LOCATED AT 717 BRIDGEPORT AVE, MILFORD, CT 06460 (203) 783-5900, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COOLANT VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 12V551000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
I BROUGHT THIS 2013 FORD ESCAPE TRUCK IN AUGUST 21ST 2018 IT HAD 77095 MILES WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY STILL AFTER WE BROUGHT THE TRUCK THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER 3, 2018 I WENT UP THERE TO DON DAVIS NISSAN WHEN THIS TRUCK WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND TOLD DON DAVIS NISSAN THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT ON THERE WAS ON THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY POCKET AND I TOLD THEM WHY SHOULD ME AND MY DAY PAY FOR SOMETHING AND THE TRUCK WAS UNDER THE WARRANTY STILL THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT I BEING CALLING THEM NUMEROUS OF TIMES FROM SEPTEMBER 3, 2018 AND 2019 ABOUT THIS TRUCK AND IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THAT TIME SO AROUND OCTOBER 28, 2019 I WAS LEAVING FROM THE LIBRARY DOING MY HOMEWORK AND I HAVE NOT EATEN...

COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE. WHILE ON MOTION ENGINE OVER HEAT AND MADE THE CAR SHAKE . FROM THAT TIME NOISE IS COMING FROM THE ENGINE.. COOLANT LEVEL GOES LOW UNTIL TANK GOES EMPTY . NO ALERT GIVING WHEN COOLANT DROP OFF LEVELS , AT THE SAME TIME OIL LEVELS INCREASE.....
STALLS AFTER STARTING ... THE CAR WILL START JUST FINE BUT A FEW SECONDS OR MINUTES LATER WILL STALL ONCE I AM ALREADY ON THE ROAD. ALSO IF SITTING WITH OUT RUNNING FOR A WHILE CAR WILL STALL AND TURN OFF. IN TRAFFIC THIS IS ALSO AN ISSUE, FREEWAY CLOSED ONE TIME AND HAD TO SIT IN STANDING TRAFFIC IN HWY AND CAR JUST TURNED OFF. SEVERAL TIMES WHEN PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY OR THE SCARIEST PART A SHOOING STRIP PARKING LOT ONTO A BUSY FEEDER ROAD THE CAR WILL STALL AND TURN OFF.
MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN HAS A LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT AND OVERHEATS TO EXTREMELY HIGH TEMPERATURES. THEN THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL AS I'M DRIVING IT. THIS WAS PART OF A RECALL OF OTHER FORD ESCAPES BUT SOMEHOW MY CAR WAS NOT ADDED TO THIS LIST.
ON AT LEAST 9 OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST YEAR, CAR STALLED WHEN COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 10MPH OR LESS. SEQUENCE WAS: 1) THE CAR WAS WARMED UP DRIVING TO A STORE; 2) ENGINE WAS OFF FOR AT LEAST TWENTY MINUTES WHILE IN STORE; 3) AFTER LEAVING STORE AND STARTING CAR, THE CAR STALLED WITHIN A MINUTE. UPON STALLING, ENGINE COULD BE RESTARTED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE CAUSE. NO PARTS HAD BEEN REPLACED ON THE CAR.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STALLED OUT OR DIED. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND RADIO WERE NOT AFFECTED. THE CAR WAS STILL ON BUT THE RPMS WERE AT 0 AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. I HAD TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT.
I OWN A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. I CAN BE DRIVING ALONG AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STALLS WITH NO WARNING. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP AND AFTER LOTS OF MONEY OUT OF POCKET , I STILL DO NOT HAVE A RESOLUTION. THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE PROBLEM.
THE CAR WILL RUN FOR ABOUT A MINUTE AND THEN WANT TO STALL. ALSO WHEN YOU START IT IT WILL DRIVE FOR ABOUT 20 YARDS AND THEN START IDLING VERY WEIRD AND STALL. IT DOESN'T DO THIS ALL THE TIME. IT'S DANGEROUS.
MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE HAS LOST COOLANT SINCE IT WAS BRAND NEW. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY COULD NEVER FIGURE OUT THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK. IT WAS SLOW, SO I LET IT GO. I JUST ADD A LITTLE COOLANT EVERY COUPLE MONTHS. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE IN A NEW VEHICLE. WELL, NOW IT IS 2019 AND I HAVE AN ALL OUT LEAK. I HAVE TO ADD COOLANT EVERY FEW DAYS. I LEAVE A PUDDLE ON ANY PARKING SPOT I USE FOR A FEW HOURS OR MORE. THIS MODEL YEAR, AND ENGINE (1.6 ECOBOOST) IS KNOWN FOR THIS ISSUE. I FEAR IT IS COMING FROM THE ENGINE BLOCK, AND I'M OUT A LOT OF MONEY.
THE VEHICLE HESITATES THEN STALLS EVEN WHEN IN DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE CITY STREETS WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN AND WHEN PULLING FORWARD AT A GREEN LIGHT AT AN INTERSECTION. PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL BUT DOES NOT RE-ENGAGE AND STALLS. I HAVE REPLACED ALL SPARKS PLUGS AND CLEANED THE INJECTORS AND FUEL LINES. THIS IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE - THE DEALERSHIP IS AT A LOSS.
HEAT GAUGE GOES TO NORMAL BUT LITTLE TO NO HEAT. AIR CONDITIONER HAD TO BE REPAIRED BY MIKE BASS FORD SHEFFIELD OHIO I HAVE CHANGED ROTORS ,CALIPERS AND BRAKE PADS 2 TIMES IN 2 YEARS AND 8000 MILES I PURCHASED THE CAT 09/28/2017 WITH 30849 MILES
