#10946289 | SUSPENSION | | 10,000 miles
THE AXLES ON THIS FULLHOUSE ARE MOUNTED TOO FAR FORWARD RESULTING IN DIMINISHED PIN WEIGHT WHEN THE GARAGE IS LOADED. ALSO INCREASES THE EFFECT THE WEIGHT IN THE GARAGE HAS ON CREATING SWAY IN THE TRAILER. THE COMPANY HAS SINCE MINE WAS CONSTRUCTED CHANGED THE LOCATION OF THE AXLES ON ALL OF THEIR FULLHOUSES FURTHER TO THE REAR TO DIMINISH THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT SINCE I BROUGHT THIS TO THEIR ATTENTION AND THAT THERE HAS BEEN A SUBSEQUENT REDESIGN OF THIS PART OF THE SUSPENSION THAT THE EARLY BUILT FULLHOUSES SHOULD BE RECALLED TO REPAIR THIS DESIGN FLAW. SO FAR THIS HAS NOT RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT BUT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO CHANGE LANES TO RECOVER FROM TRAILER SWAY, FORTUNATELY NO ONE HAS BEEN BESIDE ME WHEN THIS HAS OCCURRED. THIS IS A 24,000 LB RV THAT I AM TOWING WITH A 2017 FORD F450, I MENTION THIS TO POINT OUT THAT IT IS A SUBSTANTIAL MASS THAT AT TIMES WANTS TO DRIVE ITSELF. THE AXLES ON THE CURRENT FULLHOUSE JX450 HAVE BEEN MOVED APPROXIMATELY 24" WHICH IS SUBSTANTIAL CONSIDERING THAT THE LAYOUT (FLOOR PLAN) OF THIS HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED. THEY MOVED THEM THE MAXIMUM THAT COULD BE DONE GIVEN THE SLIDE LOCATIONS WITHOUT A MAJOR REDESIGN OF THE ENTIRE FLOOR PLAN. THE PHOTOS ENCLOSED DEPICT MY FULLHOUSE JX450 AND A 2017 FULLHOUSE JX450, THE DIFFERENCE IN DISTANCE FROM THE WHEEL TRIM TO THE REAR OF THE SLIDE IF APPROXIMATELY 24". THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.*DT*JB
