TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHALLENGER. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT PARKED IN THE GARAGE. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE EMERGING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE HOOD WAS OPENED AND THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS SMOKING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AFTERWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT; HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT PART OF THE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,072.
