Bulletin Summary
NEWMAR CORPORATION HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN SPECIFIC MOTORHOMES BUILT ON FREIGHTLINER CHASSIS. THIS RECALL IS THE RESULT OF INFORMATION PROVIDED TO NEWMAR BY DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA. NHTSA#16V 270, TC# 2016-262 ON CERTAIN MOTORHOMES, THE FRONT SWAY BAR MOUNTING BRACKET MAY NOT FIT ON THE AXLE MOUNTING SURFACE CORRECTLY. THIS COULD CAUSE THE MOUNTING BOLTS TO BEND OR BECOME LOOSE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE SWAY BAR POSSIBLY DETACHING, POTENTIALLY AFFECTING VEHICLE HANDLING AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH CAUSING INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
