Bulletin Summary
NEWMAR CORPORATION HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN SPECIFIC MOTOR HOMES. NHTSA#: 15V 803 TC#: 2015- 562 ON CERTAIN MOTORHOMES, THE CARGO DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON THE BAGGAGE DOORS COULD OVERHEAT DUE TO A FAULTY KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE CONFIGURATION. IF OPERATED WITH A BATTERY VOLTAGE BELOW 9.5V DC, THE ACTUATOR COULD CHATTER, CAUSING IT TO OVERHEAT AND MELT, ALONG WITH A PORTION OF THE INNER DOOR MATERIAL. THIS SCENARIO INCREASES THE RISK OF FIRE, WHICH MAY CAUSE PHYSICAL INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
