Bulletin Summary
Some 2021-2022 Super Duty, Navigator, and Expedition vehicles equipped with a power roof opening panel may experience a malfunction or an inoperable condition with the power roof opening panel or sunshade where the initialization procedure may need to be performed. The Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 50117 > General Procedures > Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization is the process of being updated. At this time, when directed in Step 1 to switch the ignition ON, the engine should then be started and allowed to run. When Step 2 is reached and the vehicle is turned back on, the engine should be restarted and allowed to run through completion of the initialization procedure.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
