Bulletin Summary

Altec has discovered that the fuse for the main contactor in the L JEMS system on the affected units can be undersized. A 250 amp fuse may have been installed instead of the required 400 amp fuse. This can cause repeated blowing of the fuse and resulting loss of power. Altec has created a service kit to replace the fuse and connecting cable. This will prevent improper blowing of the fuse and ensure that the cable is properly sized. Altec requires that the kit be installed no later than the next regular maintenance interval.

About Technical Service Bulletins

A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
