Bulletin Summary
Regular replacement of the return line hydraulic filter is required as part of the periodic maintenance on an aerial device. Altec has discovered that on the affected units the hydraulic reservoir was mounted in a location that does not allow access for replacing the return line hydraulic filter. Altec requires that a repair is performed to provide filter access no later than the next periodic maintenance interval. The required repair kit depends on the type of body on the unit. The affected units are T40P aerial devices built on Ford F-750 chassis from July 2017 through December 2018
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
