Bulletin Summary
DESCRIPTION: Van Hool has determined that some of the seven fasteners securing the automatic belt tensioner base plate are subject to slackening. Tests have shown that these fasteners must be installed with Loctite 243 and tightened to a torque of 90 ± 10 Nm (65 ± 7 ft.lbf). To address this issue, Van Hool is conducting a field change program whereby the seven fasteners must be removed and checked one by one for length and thread pitch (1.75 mm). What to do next is explained in this service bulletin
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
