Bulletin Summary

SUBJECT : Engine overheating due to an open or not properly closed access door with electric cooling fans CONDITIONS : This service bulletin does not entitle to any reimbursement. Your vehicle is equipped with electric cooling fans located at the inside of the access doors of the radiator and charge-air cooler compartment. To prevent personal injury due to running fans, a safety system with proximity switches prevents the cooling fans from running when the access door is open or not properly closed. The cooling system will in that case not operate causing possible overheating of the engine when this situation continues for a longer time. To prevent this from happening, it is important to follow the guideline below:

About Technical Service Bulletins

A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
