DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT WHICH RELATES TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN SPECIFIC MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON FREIGHTLINER CHASSIS AND IN RESPONSE NEWMAR IS PUBLISHING RECALL NHTSA# 16V 478 TC# 2016-325. ON CERTAIN MOTORHOMES, WHEN THE THROTTLE PEDAL IS RELEASED, THE ASSOCIATED PEDAL SENSOR MAY NOT RETURN TO ZERO, CAUSING THE ENGINE BRAKE TO POTENTIALLY NOT ACTIVATE AS EXPECTED. A SUDDEN LOSS OF AN ENGINE BRAKE, WITHOUT WARNING ON A MOTORHOME, MAY LEAD TO A REDUCED BRAKE CAPACITY POTENTIALLY INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.
