Bulletin Summary
This Maintenance Information explains that on some post EPA 2010 vehicles, it is possible for the combined charging and starting system F81 fuse to blow unexpectedly. To avoid this situation, a 3 amp diode can be added to the corresponding 24CO circuit to prevent electrical back-flow to the fuse. The following procedure describes the steps to follow to perform this modification.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
