Bulletin Summary
Certain GV60 (JW1 EV) vehicles may exhibit a condition where a cell voltage variation becomes active after charging. The Battery Management System (BMS) software logic could cause an HV battery cell voltage to be misread under specific conditions resulting in a false-positive DTC, MIL on, and 80% maximum HV battery charge limit. There is no other effect on the vehicle and all systems remain operational. With this update the charging logic is also improved for charging calibration and climate control functions in the Genesis Connect app. Regardless of whether the vehicle has an active DTC P1AA900 or not, follow the procedure in this TSB to update the software for the Battery Management System (BMS).
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
